2026 Korea Field Research and Study (KFRS) Program
KDI School is pleased to announce the 2026 Korea Field Research and Study (KFRS) program, scheduled from May 13 (Wed) to May 15 (Fri), 2026.
☑ Program Overview
KFRS is a three-day field trip designed to provide international students with a deeper understanding of Korea’s rapid economic development and vibrant culture.
Through visits to major industrial sites, public institutions, and cultural landmarks, participants will explore how Korea’s industries, media, and cultural sectors have evolved. The program also includes cultural experiences, offering a well-rounded perspective on contemporary Korean society.

- Dates: May 13 (Wed) – May 15 (Fri), 2026 / 2 Nights, 3 Days
- Participation Fee: KRW 100,000
(Actual cost approx. KRW 500,000; accommodation, meals, and transportation are supported by KDIS)
- Accommodation: 4-star hotels in Seoul and Pyeongtaek
(double occupancy, 2 persons per room)
- Capacity: 70 participants (first-come, first-served basis)
☑ Eligibility & Priority
- Priority will be given to students who did not participate in previous KFRS programs.
- Remaining spots, if available, will be offered to past participants.
☑ Application Process
- Application Period: April 13 (Mon), 2026 – April 20 (Mon), 2026
Apply through MIS:
MIS → Training/Event → Apply for Events → Select "Field Trip" → "2026 Korea Field Research and Study (KFRS) Program"
- Please indicate any dietary restrictions (halal, vegetarian, etc.) under the “Food Menu” section.
- Some student categories (e.g., exchange or non-stipend students) may be required to complete the participation fee payment to finalize registration.
☑ Participation Fee Payment
- Monthly stipend recipients: Fee will be deducted after the program
- Non-recipients: Must transfer KRW 100,000 during the application period
※ IBK and ADB scholarship students: Participation fee will be covered by the scholarship; no separate payment is required.
* Detailed payment instructions will be provided separately.
☑ Important Notes
- Students are advised to prioritize academic commitments when applying.
- Course Credit: 1 credit will be awarded upon submission of a KFRS report
(Note: Not counted toward graduation requirements)
- No-show Penalty: KRW 30,000
(No penalty if canceled within the designated period)
