CALL FOR PAPERS 

KDI School of Public Policy and Management is delighted to invite papers for The World Bank–KDI School 6th Development Impact Conference, hosted  in partnership with the World Bank’s Development Impact department. Building on a decade of DIME–KDI School collaboration, the event serves as a dynamic forum for showcasing high-quality academic research and innovative impact evaluations of development programs. It brings together researchers, policymakers, donors, and development practitioners with a shared commitment to generate, apply, and scale rigorous evidence that improves development outcomes. 

Conference Venue:

This year’s conference will be held in Washington, D.C., on November 6–7, 2025. 

*Partial travel subsidies will be available for graduate students. All eligible submissions will automatically be considered for travel subsidies, and there is no separate funding application. Decisions will be communicated in early October.

Suggested Topics:

We welcome papers on all topics in development, and this year’s special thematic area are the below:

A. Education, Social Protection, and Jobs in the Digital Age

B. Agricultural and Rural Development and Resilience 

C. Universal Health Coverage and Advancement of Health Services 

D. Productive Uses of Energy and Emissions Management 

E. Governance and Development in Fragile, Conflict-Affected, and Volatile Contexts 

F. Urban Development and Gender Inclusivity

Submission details:

Please fill out this form to submit your paper or extended abstract. Only complete paper drafts will be considered for the main conference sessions, but a lightning session will accept extended abstracts. All submissions must be in English. The submission deadline is August 29, 2025.

Graduate students who do not have a full paper are encouraged to submit an extended abstract for the lightning session. Please use the same form to submit your extended abstract.

Important Dates:

Acceptance Notification: September 26, 2025. 

Conference Dates: November 6-7, 2025.
