May 13, Update on English Proficiency Requirements

Greetings from the Admissions Office!
Please refer to the updated schedule and guidelines for the 2026 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) Program – Embassy Track as follows:

1. GKS Application Period (Embassy Track)

📅 Online Application Period: May 7 (Thu.) – May 15 (Fri.), 23:59, 2026 (KST)

     

🌐 KDI School Online Application Portal: https://apply.kdischool.ac.kr

※ Applicants who apply to any other KDI School scholarship program will be automatically disqualified from the admission process.

2. GKS Program Application Guidelines

📄 Check all documents attached to this notice, 

※ Please refer to both:
① Application Guidelines and
② University Information (Overview of the University) – KDI School requires additional documents.

※ Applicants must use ③ GKS Application Forms and submit them via KDI School’s online application system.

3. Additional Documents Required by KDI School 

※ If any documents required by NIIED or KDI School are incomplete or missing, the applicant will be disqualified immediately.

• [REQUIRED] Two Letters of Recommendation
- Request two letters through the KDI School online application system.

🔺 Even if you have submitted NIIED Form 5 to the Embassy, you are still required to request two letters of recommendation through the KDI School’s online application system.

• [REQUIRED] English Proficiency Test Score Report
  Please check accepted tests and minimum scores below.
• [If applicable] Master's or Doctoral Degree Certificate
  Required if academic history is listed.
• [If applicable] Certificate of Employment
  Required if employment history is mentioned.



Q. How should I submit my recommendation letters?
A. Submit recommendation letters online via the KDI School application system.
     No hard copies are required. No NIIED Form 5.
     Please enter your recommenders' email address in the online application system.
     Recommenders must submit their recommendations electronically.

*Applicants who have received their degree (Bachelor's degree or higher) from the following countries are automatically exempt from submitting an English Proficiency Test Score:

Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Malta, New Zealand, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States
