2. What documents should I prepare?

Students shall submit the PDF version of following documents to KDI School for temporary leave application.

 (1) Round Trip E-ticket (Mandatory to all)

  - 2023 spring vacation period is from May 1 to May 13.

If you don’t have classes to attend because the final exam ends early, you can buy a ticket departing from Korea one to two days earlier than May 1.

However, you must re-enter Korea by May 15, the start day of 1st session of the summer semester.

  - To guarantee re-entry in Korea, you must submit the ROUND trip e-ticket. Submitting your application only with a departing ticket will be rejected.

 (2) Signed Temporary Leave Guideline Acknowledgement (Mandatory to all)    *Attachement 2

  - Please download the attachment, check the contents, write your departure date and arrival date on the pledge, and sign it.

 (3) Certificate of Travel Insurance (Only for those who travel 3rd country)

  - 3rd country means any country except your home country and Korea.

Please purchase travel insurance covered by a convenient domestic or international insurance company for the duration of your trip.

Insurance costs vary depending on your travel schedule and the country you visit.

 (4) Additional Temporary Leave Application form (Only for NIIED students)  *Attachement 3

3. I prepared the documents. How can I apply?

If you have all the documents ready, you can apply for temporary leave through MIS.

 (1) Go to MIS (http://mis.Kdischool.ac.kr) with Internet Explorer (No chrome, Firefox, Swing, etc.).

 (2) Go to ‘Service’ → ‘Academic’ → ‘Temporary Leave’ → ‘Request’

 (3) Read the guidelines shown in the page thoroughly, and check ‘I have read and agree to the above rules’ box.

 (4) Fill out details (academic year, purpose, destination, date, etc.) and upload required documents before clicking ‘Submit’.

  - Please click “Up” to upload your round E-ticket.

  - Please upload your signed temporary leave guideline acknowledgement form (mandatory to all) and additional temporary leave application form

(only for NIIED) in “Others” box.

  - If MIS does not work properly, submit your documents to soyul_kim@kdischool.ac.kr.

※ For better understanding, please check the temporary leave application manual attached (attachment 1).

4. Can I apply later than the application period?

Administrative work is required for the temporary leave approval process and takes a long time.

Therefore, those who apply after the designated two-week application period (April 4 - April 18), may not be able to get prior approval until the departure date you want.

In addition, KDI school will deduct the monthly stipend for the entire travel period regardless of the temporary leave standard by the scholarship group.

Therefore, we don't recommend you to apply later than a designated deadline (April 18).

Once the application is collected and final approval by the school is completed, the information regarding departure and return procedure (return report) will be sent to the approved students.

If you need more information or require assistance, please contact the Student Affairs Division at soyul_kim@kdischool.ac.kr or at 044-550-1253.
