Greatest diversity in member pool ever – 10 representatives from different countries and from all 5 continents
Various tasks tailored for each K-Developedian will be conducted for 5 months

Last month, the KDI School announced the launch of the 2nd ‘Student Ambassadors for K-Developedia’ project, the school’s online database on Korea’s development know-how. A total of 10 K-Developedians were selected to promote K-Developedia through various media channels and marketing strategies until August.

Since the first launch of the K-Developedian program in 2014, this program aims to raise the awareness of K-Developedia among policy makers and researchers in developing countries. This is done by encouraging student ambassadors to develop their own strategies through the system, thus attracting users to K-Developedia. After a training session on the K-Developedia system, a kickoff meeting was held where each K-Developedian gave presentations on their objectives and action plans for the next five months.

This year’s K-Developedian program boasts a bigger and more diverse pool of outstanding representatives compared to the previous year. Each member is from a different country and from all five continents - Africa(Kenya, Malawi, Morocco), Asia(South Korea, China, Cambodia), Europe(France, Greece), North America(US), and Oceania(New Zealand). The scope of the K-Developedian’s education also varies, from undergraduates to Ph.D.

Dr. Hye-kyung Chung, Head of K-Developedia Team, said “With the promotional efforts of our K-Developedians, we hope researchers and policy makers of developing countries learn more about our database and use it actively for their research.”
