Chong-dong Theater is a cultural and historic space located at the center of the city near Deoksugung. In fact, it is the only modern theatre in Korea that has solely devoted to stage performances and has staged the Korean Traditional Stage performance every day since 1997 in order to keep the passion of traditional Korean arts alive. The KDI School organized the trip to the theatre on April 28.

Students had a chance to immense themselves into Korean history and grand tradition by trying the Korean traditional costumes of the King, Queen, and officials. Students from different cultures and continents all felt as if they were living in a royal palace in Korea many years ago.

The traditional music show inside the theatre also proved to be very interesting. All plays were performed in groups with four mains elements: drums, dances, songs, and musical instruments. Each described the daily lives, beliefs, and customs of people in the old days. At the end of the show, students had a wonderful chance to take pictures with performers.
