“Dancing – Challenged People have Boogie Fever , TOO”

KDI School’s very own Dance Club

Find out what your staff at the KDI School like to do in their free time!

Since April this year, a small group of the KDI School staff has been meeting up for dance classes at KAIST Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They are part of the dance club called “To Bam Yul” which can be roughly translated into “dancing-challenged people with boogie fever”. The name sounds a bit silly but it shows how passionate they are of dancing although they have two left feet or no sense of rhythm. There are thirteen members and two of them are male staff, Mr. Lee Sung-Yeol(Academic & Student Division)and Mr. Song Chang-Yong (Administration Division). The Club has been fortunate enough to receive lessons from a professional dancing teacher.

Ms. Jang Man-Hee (Academic & Student Division) is the Club President. She said most of the members had bad hand-leg coordination at the beginning but they have built up some confidence as the lessons proceeded.

A Club member, Ms. Choi Sang-Mi (Library) told the Globe, “It’s not just about dance moves. Half of the class time is for stretching which has enhanced my flexibility significantly. You do not need to have great dancing skills to become a member.”

During April and May, they have mastered sexy dance moves for Jewelry’s “One More Time” and Wonder Girls “I’m So Hot.” In the last couple of weeks, they have been dancing along to JinuSean’s “A-Yo” and Moogadang’s ”Just Sexy”

Let’s all hope we can see them busting some cool moves for us in the near future.
