Effective communication and presentation skills have become increasingly crucial for students at KDI School. In response to this growing need, the Writing Center has introduced a new service (presentation consultations) to empower students and help them excel academically. The Writing Center’s presentation service is a comprehensive program designed to assist students in developing and refining their presentation skills. Whether you're preparing for a classroom, group or conference presentation, this service offers a range of resources and guidance to help you deliver your message with confidence and impact.

The key feature of this service is the personalised review and feedback provided by the Writing Center's consultants. Students can submit their presentation materials for review and have a one-on-one dry run or rehearsal presentation with the consultants. Then the Center’s consultants will provide detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement. The review will be on content/structure, slide design and presentation delivery. Students can tell the consultant which aspects of their presentation they most want to get feedback on; through one-on-one sessions, students can work closely with the Center's consultants to identify their strengths, address their weaknesses, and develop a tailored presentation approach. This individualised attention ensures that each student receives the support they need to reach their full potential. The Writing Center recognises the importance of making the presentation practice as realistic as possible. As such, the presentation service includes access to a classroom (depending on availability), allowing students to experiment with the classroom IT equipment before the actual presentation date. This process helps students refine their presentations and fosters a culture of continuous learning and growth.

This new service has been ongoing for almost a month, and here is what two students, early users of the service, have to say:

“I was so excited to hear that the Writing Center launched the presentation service because it is a great way to get feedback about my presentation before the actual date of the presentation. Hence, I quickly registered. During the consultation, I rehearsed my presentation, and the consultant provided insightful feedback on my content, structure, and delivery, which greatly enhanced my actual presentation and boosted my confidence. Also, the rehearsal was fun, and I was grateful for the opportunity to use the classroom facilities before the actual date of presentation.”

- Myat Myat Maw (MPP 2024, Myanmar)

“The Presentation Consultation Service was incredibly helpful in taking my presentation from good to great. The consultants provided detailed feedback on the structure, visuals, and delivery of my presentation, helping me refine and elevate it in ways I wouldn't have been able to on my own. I appreciated how personalised and collaborative the experience was. The consultants took the time to understand my specific needs and goals and worked closely with me to implement their recommendations.”

- Qamer Ali (MDP 2023, Pakistan)

Each student has three (3) slots for this service per semester, and you can book through the Writing Center on EKDIS or using this link:

By taking advantage of this service, students can be empowered to elevate their presentation skills and succeed in their academic and professional endeavours. Partaking in this service is a game-changer for students committed to enhancing their public speaking skills and communication abilities and making lasting impressions on their audience.
