KDI School welcomes new president

On March 24^th 2009, Dr. Oh-Seok Hyun was inaugurated as the new President of the KDI and KDI School. As the new President, Dr. Hyun emphasized the need for close attention to be paid to the demands of this generation in order to unearth new growth engines for economic recovery, particularly admist the current global financial crisis and economic stagnation.

“As a leading postgraduate institution,” he declared, “it is our prosmise to continue to provide quality education that is both relevant and empowering to those who dare to make changes.”

In addistion to his Ph. D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Hyun’s qualifications include former service with the Ministry of Finance and Economy as well as the World Bank, and completion of a six year term as the President of the Institute for International Trade (KITA).
