Sejong, South Korea - In a celebration of international cooperation and cultural exchange, the KDI School of Public Policy and Management recently hosted a  networking event in Sejong, welcoming a group of students from George Washington University. The event, organized by the International Cooperation Division of KDI School, provided a platform for students from both institutions to engage in free conversation, share their experiences, and build lasting networks.

The collaborative public diplomacy project between KDI School and GWU has long been recognized as a testament to the power of academic partnerships in fostering global understanding. This year's visit by GWU students was an exceptional opportunity for students to immerse themselves in Korean culture and gain invaluable insights into the intricacies of public policy and management.

The students participated in a networking  session aimed to facilitate open dialogue and promote mutual learning between the students from KDI School and GWU.

The exchange event commenced with a warm welcome from KDI School staff emphasizing the importance of such collaborations in today's interconnected world. 

Throughout the event, the students actively engaged in conversations, sharing their diverse academic backgrounds, research interests, and unique experiences studying in their respective countries. The atmosphere was vibrant and brimming with intellectual curiosity as discussions spanned a wide range of topics, including public policy challenges, international relations, and cross-cultural understanding.

The event also allowed the KDI School students to tell more about the rich cultural heritage of Korea. One KDI School student, Dilrabo Saidalieva, remarked, "Meeting the GWU students was an eye-opening experience. It was inspiring to see how people from different backgrounds can come together , exchange ideas, and learn from one another. I am grateful for the opportunity to build connections that will undoubtedly shape our future careers."

The event concluded with a farewell lunch, where friendships were solidified and promises to stay connected were made. Both KDI School and GWU students expressed their enthusiasm for future collaborations and eagerly discussed potential joint research projects and further exchange opportunities.
