2024 is more than just another year at KDIS; it is a collection of moments that made us laugh, warmed our hearts, and reminded us of the special bond we share as a community. It is not just about the lectures, exams, or projects; it is about the little things that make us feel alive and connected. The joy of late-night conversations, the thrill of overcoming challenges together, and the memories that left a permanent mark on our hearts.
In this article, you will find stories from the heart shared by students who lived these moments. Each memory is a glimpse into the unique experiences that shaped our year and brought us closer.
Asude Sena Moya (2024 MIPD, Republic of Turkiye)
My friends are the most remarkable part of my KDIS life. Thanks to them, I’ve had many happy memories and enjoyed this year. Although we will graduate soon, I am excited for the next chapter of our lives. I hope to maintain our friendships and grow together!
Seolyeon Moon (2024 MPP, Republic of Korea)
I cherish memories of my friends generously sharing food with me, whether in the cafeteria or dorm kitchen. It was a joy to bond with students from diverse cultures and hear their stories. One day this year, I bought an extra cafeteria ticket without hesitation for a friend who forgot to withdraw cash to charge the student card. That was when I realized KDIS had instilled in me a beautiful culture of sharing.
Hien Truong Thi Thu (2024 MDP, Vietnam)
My most remarkable moment at KDIS this year was the Talent Show. Our Music Club poured heart and soul into preparing for the performance. We practiced daily after school for two intense weeks, supporting each other through challenging harmonies and choreography. We shared nervous excitement, laughed during rehearsals, and performed joyfully. Bringing our storytelling and musical drama to the stage felt magical. The audience's warmth and enthusiasm made every moment of preparation worthwhile, creating memories we'll cherish forever.
Htwe Ei Thaw Lwin (2024 MPP, Myanmar)
2024 has so many remarkable moments for me. However, one of my favorites was my Korean language lectures; they were fantastic and exciting. Another noteworthy moment is working on group projects with my course mates. I will miss them; we had so much fun working together.
Isiaka Salim (2023 MPP, Ghana)
Every experience I have had at KDIS is a happy one for me. However, the most remarkable moment for me was being able to showcase my singing at the Talent Show. It was truly magical for me. It was a way to show the world the massive talent and gifts Africa has as a continent.
Gama Enelless Namagowa (2024 MDP, Malawi)
I have 3 most memorable moments this year at KDIS. My first happiest moment was when I arrived at KDIS. My journey has been one enjoyable roller coaster; my friendships here have been full of life! The second moment was when I recited my first poem at the Talent Show. The support I received was tremendous. It made me come out of my shell; now, I write and recite often when given a platform. The third one was the sports day. The games, and the teamwork 🔥 it was amazing; I wish we could go back and replay the day again, minus the rain, lol.
Nana Yaa Agyenim Boateng (2024 MPM, United Kingdom)
During my second week at KDIS, I joined the African community for an ice-skating outing. Nervous but excited, I watched as everyone faced their fears on the rink—scared yet brave, trying something new. The laughter, tumbles, and encouragement made it unforgettable. That day taught me the power of stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing new experiences. Being part of such an open and supportive community inspires me to approach every moment with courage and curiosity.
These are our stories, and they are what makes this year genuinely unforgettable.
