Internship at the International Energy Agency

Location: Paris, France 

Period: 6 months

Ideal candidate profile

• Current Masters or PhD student studying in relevant disciplines such as environmental, energy or public policy, energy economics, social sciences, environmental engineering/sciences, electrical/power system engineering or other disciplines where knowledge and skills can be applied to this field. 

• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; working knowledge of other languages, for example Portuguese, would be an advantage. 

• Proven research skills and analytical abilities, demonstrated in past work such as analytical reports, university assignments and/or published papers. Quantitative analysis, including strong excel skills, is desirable.

• Experience with external and internal communications, marketing, and event organising is a plus. 

• Knowledge of inclusive energy transitions including skills, decent jobs, worker protection, socio-economic development, equality, social inclusion and fairness is an asset. 

• Understanding of digital technologies and power sector as well as experience with energy efficiency in buildings, industry, transport, industry or finance sectors is a plus. 

• Knowledge of energy efficiency policies and measures. Experience working in Latin America, Africa, India or Southeast Asia is a plus. 

Eligiblity criteria

• Please note interns must be enrolled in a degree programme during the full duration of the internship. 

• Interns will be based in Paris, France during the programme.

• Internships are eligible for IEA Member country nationals only.
