Preliminary Session 2007 for MPP, MBA(Day) Students

Dear MPP, MBA (Day) Students,

We are pleased that you have chosen the KDI School of Public Policy and Management.
To help you prepare for the academic year, we will provide several kinds of preliminary courses during the Preliminary Term. Please refer to the following detailed information.

□ Preliminary Session: Jan. 8, 2007 ~ Jan. 26, 2007

□ Preliminary Session Orientation & English Level Test
- Date & Time: Jan. 8, 9:00 am
- Venue: Lincoln Hall, 7th Floor, KDI School
- Schedule
A. Distribution of Orientation Package & Tea Time: 9:00 - 9:15
B. Orientation for Winter Preliminary Term: 9:15 - 9:30
C. English Placement Test:
Writing Test: 9:30 ~ 10: 00 (Lincoln Hall)
Oral Test: 10:00 - 13:30
* Students who are unable to participate in the English Level Test or the Preliminary Term must let me know via e-mail as soon as possible. (We will continue to deliver notices to admitted students via e-mail. Please be sure to provide us with the e-mail address at which we can reach you from now until the beginning of the academic year.)

□ Preliminary Courses
1. English Course: Students will be divided into attending classes, or getting a waiver, based on their performance on the English Level Test.
2. IT Course: Learning to use Microsoft Power Point, Excel, etc. This course offers students the opportunity to review basic computer skills such as MS-Powerpoint and MS-Excel.
The total course hours are 6 hours for the term. Students may choose one of the three available IT courses;
- IT (Section 1): Jan. 9(Tue), Jan. 18(Thurs.)/ 3:00 pm ~ 6:00 pm / Video Conference Room
-IT (Section 2): Jan. 10(Wed.), Jan. 19(Fri.)/ 3:00 pm ~ 6:00 pm / Video Conference Room
- IT (Section 3): Jan. 11(Thurs.), Jan. 22(Mon)/ 3:00pm ~ 6:00pm/ Video Conference Room

Students who would like to register for an IT course should log in to the web site, http://kdischool.ac.kr/member/login_form.asp. The method for registration is as follows;
(1) As you may know, your ID is your Student ID Number(of KDI School) and your password is your Resident''s Registration Number.
(2) After logging in, you will see the screen ‘Student &Alumni’.
Click on the‘3. Applications’
(3) Click on the ‘Application for Preliminary Term’
(4) Select the IT Course that you want to take
(5) Click on the ‘Next(Save)’
? Registration Period: Dec. 28, 2006(Thursday) ~ Jan. 4, 2007(Thursday)

3. Accounting: Learning to understand basic accounting contents
- Jan 12, 15, 16, 17 (Fri. ~ Wed.)/ 3:00pm ~ 6:00pm
This is open lecture. You can take this class without registration.
4. Economics:
- Jan 23 ~26 (Tue. ~ Fri.)/ 3:00 ~ 6:00pm
This is open lecture. You can take this class without registration.

5. Online Courses: ''Pre-MBA Course'' and ''Korea''s Economic Development and Economic Crisis Management''
Registration Period: Jan 3 (Tue) ~ Jan 8 (Mon)
Lecture Period on the site : Jan. 9(Tue.) ~ Feb. 28(Wed.)
Before studying at the KDI School, you can take the online courses, which have been developed by the GDLN Division of the KDI School. We will provide two online courses -- ''Pre-MBA Course'' and (Preliminary)''Korea''s Economic Development and Economic Crisis Management'' -- both free of charge.
