Professor Kim, Kyong-Dong will be speaking about “Understanding the Unique Features of Social Conflict in Korea: A Culturalist Interpretation.”

Professor Kim, Kyong-Dong is currently a Visiting Professor at the KDI School and Professor Emeritus at Seoul National University. As an internationally renowned scholar in the fields of development studies and industrial sociology, he is the member of the National Academy of Sciences, Korea. Professor Kim attempts to provide an alternative analysis of the unique features of social conflict in Korea, using the cultural vocabulary of Korean society, such as Myongbun (pretext), Nunchi (following the herd), and Ki Content.   
 
The Center for Conflict Resolution and Negotiation (CCRN) at the KDI School of Public Policy and Management is organizing and sponsoring the CCRN Colloquium, the interdisciplinary public lecture series, where renowned scholars and practitioners give lectures relating to broad topics of conflict resolution and negotiation.
