<Application for 2013 KDI School-The Asia Foundation Asia Development Fellowship Program>

 

KDI School of Public Policy and Management has been offering the Asia Development Fellowship Program with the Asia Foundation. This program is designed to promote improvement in understanding international development cooperation and to provide a sound study program for KDI School students.

 

1. Purpose

  ○ To Support international development cooperation programs and empower the capacity of preliminary professionals

  ○ To participate in the development projects which are in progress in the Asia Foundation''s field offices and conduct

      research task of each project

  ○ To understand cooperative relationship between the donors and the beneficiaries and multilateral methods of approaches

      on development assistance.

  ○ To build a firm network between the professionals of development cooperation in Korea and other Asia countries.

 

2. Summary

○ Program countries : Nepal, East Timor, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines

   - The final decision will be made based on the matching interests of the host country office and that of the candidate.

○ Subject for Program: depending on the each participant''s research subject

○ Period: December 1st, 2013 ？ January 31th, 2014 (It is possible to choose the length of the program (1 month or 2 months))

○ Number of Selectees: 10

○ Financial Coverage: All expenses including flight fare and staying expenses are paid by KDI School

○ Composition of the Program

- Pre-departure Orientation

- On-site Orientation

- Participation in the project and Conducting each research task

- Submission of a research paper on returning

 

3. Requirements

○ A ○ A Graduate student in international development cooperation/assistance (completed at least third semester)

 ○ Be fluent in English (Prerequisite)

     (A Fellow in East Timor must be capable of quantitative analysis and statistical methods in survey/research with election)

<2013 KDI 대학원-아시아재단 아시아개발협력 펠로우십 모집공고>

 

한국개발연구원 국제정책대학원(KDI School)은 아시아재단(Asia Foundation)과 협력하여 KDI School 재학생(졸업예정자 포함)들의 효과적인 개발도상국 개발협력 사업에 대한 이해증진과 실무경험 제공을 통해 국제개발협력사업의 전문적 소양을 배양하는 기회를 제공하기 위한 프로그램인 ‘2013 KDI 대학원-아시아재단 아시아개발협력 펠로우십’의 참가자를 모집합니다.

 

1. 프로그램 목적

    ○ 효과적인 개도국 개발협력사업 시행을 지원하고 해외원조 및 개발협력 수행 기관의 실무자 및 국제

        개발 협력 석, 박사 과정중인 예비 실무자들의 역량 강화

    ○ 아시아 17개국에 설립된 The Asia Foundation 지부들의 각종 개도국 경제, 사회 개발 프로젝트에

        참여하고 개별 연구 과제를 수행함으로써 아시아 개도국의 개발 현황에 대한 이해 증진

    ○ 지원 단체와 현지 개발 지원 대상 단체 간의 협력 관계 및 개발원조에 대한 다각적 접근방식 이해

    ○ 한국과 아시아 개발협력 종사자간의 네트워크 형성 및 대화채널 구축

 

2. 프로그램 개요

 

  ○ 연수국가: 아시아재단 지부 소재 일부 국가 중 택일

      - 대상국: 네팔, 동티모르, 라오스, 몽골, 방글라데시, 베트남, 스리랑카, 인도네시아, 캄보디아, 필리핀

      - 연수국가 배정은 참가자의 희망 국가 우선순위 및 해당 아시아재단 지부의 의견을 고려하여 결정

  ○ 연수주제: 개발과 관련된 참가자의 연구주제에 따름

  ○ 연수기간: 2013년 12월 1일 ？ 2014년 1월 31일 내 최대 2개월 (시작 및 종료시간 조정가능)

  ○ 선발인원: 10명 내외

  ○ 참가신청기간: 2013년 9월 25일~10월 11일(~18:00)

  ○ 참가비: 항공비, 체재비 등 전액 지원

  ○ 프로그램 구성

    - 출국 전 오리엔테이션

    - 현지 도착 후 오리엔테이션

    - 프로젝트 참가 및 개별 연구 과제 수행

    - 귀국 후 연구 보고서 제출

  ○ KDI국제정책대학원생

  ○ 영어 능통자 (필수 조건)
