Dear part-time students of 2012,   We are pleased that you have chosen the KDI School of Public Policy and Management for your graduate work. In order for us to help you prepare for the 2012 academic year successfully, we plan to provide you with basic level English course during the winter preliminary session.   □ Preliminary Session Period: January 9(Mon) ~ February 3(Fri) * Part-time students who are unable to participate in in the Preliminary Session or take the English test have to let me know via e-mail (bklee@kdischool.ac.kr).    □ Course offered l Language in Public Policy and Management (LPM) LPM, an English language course will be provided during the preliminary session. All students are required to participate in the preliminary session and take one section of LPM courses. Those students who are unable to participate in the preliminary session have to take LPM course during the spring semester.   LPM course is a 3-credits mandatory course that counts for your graduation requirement. English test will be given at the first English class on Jan. 9(Mon). Based on their English test scores, students can be waived from the basic level course. However, getting a waiver does not mean that you can get 3 credits from the waived course.   □ Preliminary Course Schedule: * Please see the attached file, "2012 Preliminary Session Class Schedule."   □ Course Registration Period: 10:00 ~ 22:00, December 28(Wed) ~ 29(Thu) ？ How to register for the courses: ①     Please go to the "KDI School Website" http://www.kdischool.ac.kr. ②     Please click “Course Registration”.  ③     Please input your student ID number in the login box. ④     Please input your resident registration number in the password box (13 digits, ex: 8011111123456). For international students, please input your date of birth (8 digits, yyyymmdd). ⑤     Please click the "OK" button. ⑥     Please check add box of the course you will register for. ⑦     Please click the "Submit" button and them, “Submit” button.     □ Preliminary Session Orientation & English Test *Schedule: 19:00~21:40, Jan. 9 (Mon) / Lincoln Hall (7^th Floor) 19:00~19:30 Orientation for Preliminary Session 19:40~21:40 English Test (*test will be held in the classroom of course which you registered)     □ Course Information Course Title Class room Time Credit Grade Level Language in Public Policy and Management(Sec.8) 9201 Evening and Saturday 3 A~F Basic Level Language in Public Policy and Management(Sec.9) 9203 Language in Public Policy and Management(Sec.10) 9205   * LPM section 1 to 7 will be offered during daytime for full-time students   □ English Test - The English test, which will last for two hours, consists of three components: reading, listening and writing.   □ Attendance Policy All students must attend at least five sixths (5/6) of all classes in a given term to receive credits and grades for their course. During the preliminary session 2 absences will be allowed. If you are absent 3 times or more from your class, you will fail in the course. There is no course retaking chance in KDI School. When you are absent 3 times or more, you have to drop or withdraw the course during the period below.   □ Course Drop Period: Jan. 16(Mon) ~ Jan. 20(Thu) If you want to drop the course, you need to fill out the course drop application form and submit it to the Academic Affairs Division (Room.8215). In this case, the course drop will not appear on the official transcript.   □ Course Withdrawal Period: Jan. 25 (Wed) ~ Jan. 28(Sat) If you want to withdraw the course after course drop period, you need to fill out the course withdrawal application form and submit it to the Academic Affairs Division (Room.8215). In this case, a "W" will appear on the official transcript.
