On June 24, 2016, the World Bank Group (WBG) will launch the Opening Learning Campus (OLC) in Korea. The OLC is the WBG’s single destination for staff and client learning. The OLC is designed to help build leadership and technical capacity by bringing global development knowledge to development partners, practitioners and policy makers. The OLC will leverage the ease and wide availability of internet and mobile access, latest developments in adult pedagogy and learning behaviors to achieve scale and reach hundreds of thousands of people in developing and developed countries who can learn anywhere, any time and at any pace.
The OLC represents the WBG’s commitment to harnessing the global revolution happening in the field of learning for better development outcomes by bringing global development knowledge of what works and how, to development practitioners. It builds on the vast repository of tacit and codified knowledge existing in the institution and globally. The OLC will enable the WBG to scale up development learning providing greater access and enhanced user experience to both staff and clients.
The first OLC launching event was undertaken in Washington D.C., on January 12, 2016, to signal the accomplishment of a key milestone in the transition toward the idea of a “Solutions Bank”. The second launching event will be held in Seoul, on June 24, 2016, for OLC Korea launch supported by the Korea Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the Korea Development Institute and the Korea National Information Society Agency.
If you are interested in joining this high profile event, Development Research Team is looking for KDI School participants to join in the OLC Korea launch event. Due to the limited number of available spots, there will be a competitive selection procedures.
Student applicants must submit application form to apply for participation in the OLC Korea Launch.

○ Requirement: Full participation at the WBG Open Learning Campus Korea Launch Event is mandatory for all participants.

* Organizers: World Bank Group, Korea Ministry of Strategy and Finance, The Korea Development Institute, The Korea National Information Society Agency
* Free Shuttle Bus Service(Sejong Campus↔the Westin Chosun Hotel, Round-trip) and Luncheon will be provided for selected participants
* If you are a student applicant, please check your course schedule before applying for the event since your absence from any of the classes will NOT be execused.
