Experimental Survey for Accessibility to Korea Local Tourist Attractions focused on overseas visitors

KDI School is cooperating with Korea Transport Institute to carry out an Experimental Survey for Accessibility to Korea local tourist attractions focused on overseas visitors.

o About Korea Transport Institute(KOTI)

• This survey is carried out by researchers at Korea Transport Institute (KOTI). KOTI is an official research agency for the government. We have carried out more than 3,000 studies since 1985.

o Background of the Survey

• Korea Local tourist attractions should be easily accessible by public transport for overseas visitors.
• To examine to what extent the Korea local tourist attractions is accessible by public transport, it is necessary to survey how the overseas visitors make a journey plan and whether they have any difficulties along the trip to destination in actual circumstance.

o Details of the Survey

• Each team makes a journey plan in advance and travel to a tourist attraction as a day trip.
• Participant will have two meetings with researchers before and after the trip. The first meeting is about the preparation of the travel to the tourist attractions. The second meeting is an interview about the travel, so that the meeting time will be announced by team.
• The tourist attractions will be given by the researchers on a random basis.
• Survey period (The dates can be changed if necessary)
•  - 3 teams : weekends from August 20^th to September 3^rd
•  - 4 teams : weekdays from August 29^th to September 2^nd

o Eligibility: International Students who stayed in Korea less than 1 year

o Pay rate: 75,000 KRW for a day-trip (excl. travel cost) + 30,000KRW for the interview

o Number of participants: 14 people (2 in 1 team)

• Selected on first-come, first-served basis
• Application is open until 19^th, August (CLOSED)
