Adjusted Level of Social Distancing in Non-Capital Areas (from July 15)

Dear members of KDI School,
Social distancing measures in non-capital regions will be increased to level 2 from July 15 in the four-tier system, as the daily number of confirmed cases has reached 1,615 which is a record high since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Korea in January last year. Thus, the Korean government has increased the social distancing of non-capital areas to level 2, as the fourth wave of the pandemic is affecting not only the metropolitan area but also non-capital regions.
(1) For the Seoul Metropolitan area: Social Distancing Level 4
□ Period: July 12 (Mon.) ~ July 25 (Sun.), 2 weeks
□ Areas: Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and Incheon
□ Restrictions: Up to 4 people are allowed until 18:00; up to 2 people are allowed after 18:00
(2) For non-capital regions: Social Distancing Level 2
□ Period: July 15 (Thur.) ~ until further notice
□ Restrictions: Up to 4 or 8 people are allowed for private gatherings; in the case of Daejeon, up to 4 people are allowed
※ Some regions, including the central administration city of Sejong, along with North and South Jeolla provinces, will have social distancing of level 1.
(3) For Sejong City: Social Distancing Level 1
□ Period: July 15 (Thur.) to July 28 (Wed.), 2 weeks
□ Areas: Sejong
□ Restrictions: Up to 4 people are allowed for private gatherings; Stricter level 1 social distancing rules are implemented
