University of Colorado at Denver, Graduate School of Public Affairs - Accelerated Master of Public Administration(AMPA)


The Graduate School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center places students from the KDI School Global Master''s Program in its Accelerated Master of Public Administration (AMPA) group. But instead of doing 36 credits of work, as other AMPA students do, they need only 27 credits. That is because they are allowed to transfer in 9 units of credit earned at the KDI School: a research methods course (which substitutes for a GSPA course called PAD5003 Research and Analytic Methods), an economics course (which substitutes for a GSPA course called PAD5004 Economics and Public Finance), and one elective course.

Thus, KDI School students from the Global Master''s Program take four core courses at GSPA, four electives, and the ''Capstone'' course, PAD5361 Advanced Seminar in Public Policy and Management. Their electives must be chosen from the ones offered in the AMPA, which may change each year.

The cost of the program is as follows: Tuition for 9 courses: $18,000; Fees: $2,000; Health Insurance: $1,000
