[Cultural Event] A Field Trip to the 3rd Tunnel (June 3rd)

Dear KDI School Students,
As to celebrate official Memorial Month of Korea (June), the KDI School plans to organize a visit to the northern border of South Korea on June 3rd (Fri). The border has been established as a result of Korean War Armistice Agreement, signed on July 27th, 1953.
We will visit Park of Peace, a park that symbolizes people's wish for peace and the 3rd tunnel that North Korea made. We will also visit Dorasan observatory Deck and then the train station which is the last station of South Korea heading north. It will be a chance for you to get a glimpse of historical tragedy caused by Korean War.
The cultural events will be opened to all students. Both international and Korean students are welcome to participate.
<The 3rd Tunnel Tour Details>
Ø Date: June 3rd (Fri.)
Ø Application Deadline: May 29th (Sun)
Ø Participation Fee: KRW 4,000 (Entrance Fee)
(Other expenses such as lunch, transportation will be covered by school.)
** If you join the tour with your Buddy, the fee will be discounted! (KRW 2,000)
Ø Gathering Place and Time: In front of the dormitory / 8:20 a.m.
Ø Every participant is required to bring the passport for the ID verification.

08:20 Gather at the main gate
08:30-10:30 Deaprture to park of peace
10:30-11:30 Park of peace
11:30-13:00 Lunch
13:00-14:30 Third Infiltration Tunnel
14:30~15:10 Dorasan Observatory
15:10~16:00 Dorasan Train Station
16:00~19:00 Return to the KDI School
<Fee Payment>
▶ How to apply for the event ◀
1. Visit, KDIS Homepage (https://www.kdischool.ac.kr/)
2. Click MIS in the Sidebar menu
3. Log on using your ID and password
4. Click Apply for Events on the left side, below Training/Event
5. Go to 3rd Tunnel Tour
6. Select the lunch menu
7. Put your passport number in the “comment menu”
8. Click Save
9. For the confirmation, click on the Event Application result under the Training/Event
Application Deadline: May 29th , 2016
▶ IMPORTANT ◀
**Please check your timetable before signing up for the event since your absence from any of the classes will be NOT be excused! Once your application is submitted, please note that you will be charged with absence penalty of 20,000 (KRW) if you don’t show up on the day, “UNLESS” you cancel it from the MIS 3 days in advance.

- For your convenience, the school would like to deduct the corresponding amount from your July stipend. If you are not getting monthly stipend from the school, additional e-mail about the participation fee will be sent.
