ALUMNI & GIVING

Chapter 1.General

  • Article 1. Name

    The name of the organization shall be Alumni Association of KDI School of Public Policy and Management (hereinafter referred to as "the Association")

  • Article 2. Purpose

      The purpose of this association shall be

      • i. to cultivate and foster a close fellowship among members
      • ii. to assist its members in career development and placement and
      • iii. to support and advance KDI School of Public Policy and Management (hereinafter referred to as "the School")
  • Article 3. Offices

    The main office of the Association shall be located at the KDI School, Namsejong-ro 263, Sejong, Republic of Korea.

  • Article 4. Fiscal Year

    The fiscal Year is 1 year from 1 January until 31 December that year.

  • Article 5. Amendment of Constitution

    The Constitution may be amended at the Board of Directors meeting by two-thirds vote, provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing or in any appropriate manner at the previous meeting.

Chapter 2.Membership

  • Article 1. Classification of Membership

    Membership shall consist of

    • i. Regular and
    • ii. Special Membership.
  • Article 2. Qualification of Membership

    Qualification of each membership shall be as follows :

    Regular: Any person who has received a Master's degree, Ph. D. degree or diploma for short-term and long-term programs from the School. Any Regular Member is eligible for benefits offered by the Association.

    Special:

    • i. All professors of the School or
    • ii. any person who has been fully elected as a special member by the Board of Directors, whose participation or donations have resulted in major development of the Association or the School.
  • Article 3. Suspension of Membership

    One's membership may be suspended for a period of time, or indefinitely, by resolution made by the Board of Directors for misconducts of the member leading to serious damage to the reputation of the Association or the School.

  • Article 4. Subscription of Membership

    The member shall pay subscription fees for its membership as follows :

    For Regular and Special Members, the annual fee shall be 30,000 won. For the members of the Board of Directors, the annual fee shall be 100,000 won.

Chapter 3.Organization

  • Article 1. Board of Directors
    • (Organization) The Board of Directors shall consist of Representatives of each graduating class, Representatives of each Regional Group and Officers of the Association. However, the first President shall be elected at the General Meeting by a vote of Regular Members and the Board of Directors.
      (President) The President of the Association shall act as President of the Board of Directors.
    • (Convocation) The Board of Directors shall convene whenever there is a requirement of
      • i. three or more Directors or
      • ii. the President has requested a meeting.
      • Notice of such a Board of Directors meeting shall be mailed to or communicated to members in any appropriate manner at least 7 days in advance of the Board of Directors meeting
    • (Voting Procedure) A quorum of the Board of Directors shall consist of half the voting members, plus one. Board of Directors decisions shall require a simple majority of voting members present.
    • (Terms of Service) The member of the Board of Directors shall serve one-year renewable terms, beginning with the first regular meeting of the Board of Directors. Apart from ex officio members, members of the Board of Directors shall not serve more than two consecutive terms.
    • (Authority) The Board of Directors shall have authority
      • 1. to elect the President and Auditor
      • 2. to amend the Constitution
      • 3. to recognize the yearly statement of account and annual budget
      • 4. to vote for Special Members
      • 5. to decide other important matters.
  • Article 2. General Meeting

    (Convocation) There shall be one General Meeting in a year in principle and the Board of Directors shall determine the dates of the General Meeting. The Board of Directors can summon Extraordinary Meetings whenever needed. Notice of such meetings shall be mailed to or communicated to the members in any appropriate manner at least 20 days in advance of such meetings.

    (Chairperson) The President of the Association shall act as the Chairperson of the General Meetings. President shall report annual Alumni activities to Alumni members in General Meetings 3. (Alumni Members) Alumni Members shall be able to express their opinions through General Meetings and the Board of Directors shall respect their opinion. However, Alumni members shall not have voting rights.

  • Article 3. Officers

    (Officers) There shall be officers of the Association such as President, Vice President, Executive Directors and the Auditor. The elected officers shall be the President and the Auditor. The President shall designate the other officers.

    (Officers' Meeting) The Officers shall meet whenever called by the President.

    (Election) The President and the Auditor shall be elected by the Board of Directors. However, the first President shall be elected at the General Meeting through voting of Regular Members and the Board of Directors.

    (Tenure) The term of Officers shall be 1 year for all elected and appointed officers.

  • Article 4. Executive Divisions

    For the purpose of effective planning and implementation of the Association activities, the Board of Directors shall form Executive Divisions. Each Executive Division shall report to the Board of Directors.

    Development and Fundraising Division

    This Division shall assist to promote School-led development activities, to coordinate alumni fundraising drives and to be responsible for planning annual budgets and settling accounts.

    Reunion and Events Division

    This Division shall plan and coordinate reunions and other major alumni events.

    Relationship and Publication Division

    This Division shall be responsible for organizing Alumni networks and communicating news and major events among Alumni members, either by publication of promotional materials or contacting Alumni members.

    Coordination Division

    This Division shall coordinate and assist executive divisions

    (Officers) Each Division has one chief executive director and two or three executive directors who are members of the Board of Directors.

  • Article 5. Advisory Board

    The President may organize an advisory board whose members are as follows :

    Representatives of students and classes and editors of The Globe presently at the School Dean and relevant professors

  • Article 6. Regional Group

    The Regional Group shall consist of Americas Group, Europe Group, Africa Group, North Asia Group, South Asia Group, West Asia Group, and Korea Group.

    Any member of the Association shall be affiliated to a Regional Group.

    Each Regional Group shall have its own Representatives and members of the Regional Group should elect their own Representatives by voting.

    Otherwise, the President shall designate the Representatives of the Regional Group.

    Representatives of each Regional Group shall be members of the Board of Directors.
