The Korean Ministry of Government Legislation (MOLEG) has shared its legislative experiences with other Asian countries and continuously made efforts to expand mutual understanding of each other's legislation.

As part of such efforts, MOLEG has held the Asian Legislative Experts Symposium (ALES) each year to share its experiences in legislative progress with other Asian countries and explore measures for mutual legislative development.

This year, the 4th ALES will be held on the theme of 'Legislative Modification Strategies for Enhancing Efficiency of ASEAN Transportation Systems,' where Korea and ASEAN member countries will look into the current status of their transport law system and discuss ways to move forward.

Enhancing the efficiency of the transportation system is a matter of collective interest to Southeast Asian countries which are experiencing dynamic economic growth and urbanization. I strongly believe that the 4th ALES will provide an opportunity for greater legislative exchanges and development by allowing Korea to share its relevant legislative experiences and work out specific strategies for legislative development with ASEAN member countries.
