WHAT IS NASPAA STUDENT SIMULATION COMPETITION?
A daylong competition for graduate students sat NASPAA Schools to work together to solve a complex public policy problem by using a simulation. The simulation model will emulate the process of solving real world problems while offering a distinctive experience to students. Students will interact with a model and see the potential results across a twenty-year span of time. On February 25, 2017, graduate students from NASPAA schools will compete at 8 global sites around the world in a dynamic daylong competition. Public administration and policy students will analyze a Food Security problem (related to UN Sustainable Development Goal #2) and present their solutions to a panel of expert judges. The competition will feature a simulation model, which requires students to apply the skills they learned in the classroom and implement systems thinking.
