The Global Delivery Initiative (GDI) work program aims to help practitioners make informed decisions and produce consistent results on the ground using a collective and cumulative knowledge base of delivery know-how. As a relevant component of GDI, the Global Delivery Library (GDL) stands as an open access space that connects practitioners to share practical experiences and know-how around delivery challenges and adaptive implementation. Duties, Responsibilities and Deliverables
The Global Delivery Initiative Team, Development Economics Knowledge Management (DECKM) is seeking to hire an experienced STC to develop case studies and/or delivery notes under Korea Program for Operational Knowledge (K-POK).
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mind combined with communications and research experience and should perform the key duties and responsibilities listed below.
- Conduct literature review including Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) and select an intervention for case study/delivery note in close coordination with GDI Secretariat.
- Develop an outline following GDI methodology, discuss it with a case reviewer, and incorporate the reviewer’s comments.
- For case studies, conduct interviews with relevant stakeholders. For delivery notes, conduct interviews with relevant stakeholders if necessary.
- Develop first draft following GDI methodology, discuss it with the case reviewer and incorporate the reviewer’s comments.
- Develop second draft, discuss it with the case reviewer and incorporate the reviewer’s comments into final draft.
- Respond to and incorporate editor’s and typesetter’s comments on the final draft.
Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate will have:
- Advanced degree (Master’s Degree) in international development, public administration, political science or related field;
- Three to five years’ professional experience of conducting research about public policy and/or international development in an international environment;
- Experience in qualitative research and analytical writing in English;
- Experience of conducting qualitative interviews for research;
- Strong writing skills to produce knowledge products such as case studies that capture implementation know-how;
- Excellent organizational skills to be able to manage multiple tasks;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders;
- Proficiency in English and in Korean
- Hiring period: Until June 30, 2019
- Work days: Depends on the number of case studies/delivery notes the candidate works on. (avg. 20-25 days per case study and less for delivery notes)
