Call for applications: UNIDO Asia Industrial Policy Lab (IPL)

The Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) is currently organizing the Asia Industrial Policy Lab (IPL) as part of the UNIDO's Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Project (2020-2025). The main objective of the UNIDO Asia IPL is to address capacity gaps in formulating, implementing, and evaluating industrial and STI policies among policymakers across Asian countries to pursue industrial development with the greatest potential to achieve the SDGs by creating networking opportunities among participants and facilitating knowledge exchange and experience sharing. In this context, STEPI has issued a call for applications for the UNIDO Asia IPL as outlined below.

Who Can Apply?

Foreign students who are currently studying in South Korea and who can participate in in-person sessions by November.

We particularly encourage those with experience as policymakers from Asian developing country governments. 

Preference will be given to students with backgrounds and topics related to industrial and science, technology, and innovation (STI) policies.   

Role of Participants

Participants will be assigned to a country study group and will be expected to attend IPL sessions.

Each country group will be expected to produce and submit a policy brief addressing each country's policy challenge.  

Benefits for Participants

Participants who successfully submit a policy brief of satisfactory quality will be awarded a certificate signed by a UNIDO official.

An opportunity to publish research findings and policy solutions through a UNIDO online publication outlet.
