2019 STATA Winter Workshop

Dear KDIS students,  

The Teaching and Learning Division is pleased to announce that the "2019 STATA Winter Workshop" will open soon! The workshop is especially designed for beginners to provide STATA training at an introductory level. Students will learn the basic operations of the STATA program for data management, descriptive analysis, linear regression estimation, and hypothesis testing. Through the workshop, students will have a great opportunity to enhance their basic statistical skills and practice evidence-based policy decision-making, using real-data applications on the STATA platform. Please find more information below.

 

[Workshop Overview]

- Title: 2019 STATA Winter Workshop (Introductory Level) 

- Instructor: Prof. Keuntae Kim (Korea University)

- Date: December 16th, 17th and 18th (3 days)

- Time: 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm (3 hours per day)  

- Location: Computer lab (3F)

- Grade: P/NP 

※ Students who attend all 3 days will receive a ‘P’ grade on their official transcripts. However, the workshop does not award any credits.

- Seat availability: Up to 35 students who registered through MIS system first. 

※ Due to the limited number of seats in the computer lab, "First-come, First-served" principle will be applied to the seminar registration.

- Prerequisite: Quantitative Methods, Introduction to Research Methods, or equivalent knowledge required.

December 16th (Mon.)	Introduction to STATA & Basic Statistics Analysis - STATA interface, Data management, do-file, etc. - Descriptive statistics, Statistical inference, Stata graphs	3 hours
December 17th (Tue.)	Hypothesis Testing & Practical Statistics Analysis - Z-test, T-test (one sample / comparision), chi-square test - ANOVA(one-way / two-way), Correlation analysis	3 hours
December 18th (Wed.)	Linear & Logistic Regression Analysis - Regression model with OLS and dummy variables - Multiple regression - Logistic regression	3 hours

 * Light Refreshments will be provided.

1) Visit www.kdischool.ac.kr

2) Login MIS with your ID and Password

3) In the menu bar on the left, click 'Apply for Events' under the 'Training/Event'

4) Click 'Query' button

 

5) Click “2019 STATA Winter Workshop” 

6) Click 'Save'

7) Application period: ~ December 15^th (Sun.)
