Dear all KDI School students,

The fall semester has begun and we are already into our second week. We hope that everyone is doing a great job keeping up the good work at School so far.

As you all know, Koreans celebrate Chuseok from September 14 to September 16 (Chuseok falls on August 15 on the lunar calendar). Similar to Thanksgiving, Chuseok is one of the most important holidays in Korea. Families come together to celebrate the harvest season, and hold memorial services at their ancestors’ graves.

In the meantime, we have some announcements to make regarding Chuseok.

1. Chuseok Gift

The School will distribute a small gift for Chuseok to students who will stay in the dormitory during the holiday break. KDI School would like to offer Korean traditional food: Tteok (rice cake) to celebrate this holiday together. Please pick it up from the information desk in building 102 after 4:00pm on September 13.

2. On-campus Cafeteria Information

During the holiday break, the cafeteria and GS25 on campus will be partially closed. Please see the time table below. Since most of the restaurants in downtown will close during the holidays, particularly on the day of Chuseok(September 15), we recommend you to shop for food in advance or go to the downtown area for dining. (Please note that Home-plus and E-mart will open throughout the whole Chuseok week.)
