Dear KDIS Students,

 

As to celebrate official Memorial Month of Korea, the KDI School plans to organize a visit to the 3rd Tunnel! It will be a visit to the northern border of South Korea and the border has been established as a result of Korean War Armistice Agreement, signed on July 27, 1953.

We will visit Nuri Peace Park, a park that symbolizes the wish for peace, and the 3rd Tunnel made by North Korea. At Dora Observatory, we can look around the surroundings of the DMZ. However, please note that we CANNOT enter the DMZ. This tour will be a great chance for you to get a glimpse of the historical tragedy caused by the Korean War.

The cultural events are open to all students. Both international and Korean students are welcome to participate.

Please read the information below carefully as any trouble caused by not following these directions will be your responsibility. 

 

★Application Period: May 16^th (Thurs.) ~ May 20^th (Mon.)

 

■ Overall Schedule for the 3^rd Tunnel Tour

1. Date: Friday, June 7^th

2. Time: 7:50 AM ~ 7:00 PM

3. Destinations: Nuri Peace Park, the 3^rd Tunnel, Dorasan Station, Dora Observatory

4. Participants: A maximum of 40 (All KDIS International & Korean Students)

- First come, first served

- The limit of participants may be increased ONLY if there are enough applicants to create one more group

5. Participation Fee: 10,000 won

    - The fee will be deducted from your monthly stipend.

- If you are not receiving a monthly stipend from the school, you will be asked to transfer the money to the school bank account.

- There will be a 50% discount if you mention that you are participating with your Buddy (KDIS Buddy Program participants).

7. Lunch Menu

- Choose one of the following meals on MIS:

Cold noodles (in meat stock) / Bibimbap (for vegetarians)

 

8. Requirement: ID

- You MUST bring either passport or Alien Registration Card.

- (내국인의 경우 신분증 반드시 지참) 

 

■ How to Apply

1. Go to http://mis.kdischool.ac.kr/

2. Log in using your ID and password

3. Click Apply for Events on the left side, under Training/Event

4. Choose Field Trip for event type, and click the query button

5. Click [Field Trip] The 3rd Tunnel Tour

6. Fill in the following details:

• Write your passport number or Alien Registration Number in the Comments field.
• Choose Vegetarian in the food menu if you are a vegetarian.
• Please leave a comment with your Buddy’s name in the comment, if you are participating with your Buddy (KDIS Buddy Program participant),
• Click the Save button.

7. For the confirmation, click on the Event Application Result under Training/Event.

* You can cancel your application up until June 3^rd.

* Please note that you will be charged 20,000 won if you do not show up after successfully registering for this program.

*Please check your schedule before signing up for this event since your absence from any of your classes will NOT be excused.
