The KDI Latin American and Caribbean Forum promotes activities that contribute to the academic and professional development of the student community in KDI School of Public Policy and Management; so this time is organizing a Special Videoconference live from Washington DC: "US Elections 2016: Trends & Prospects”; presented by Jerome Willey, Super-delegate of the U.S. Democratic Party & Pablo Pardo, Journalist from “El Mundo Newspaper” from Washington DC as special guest speakers.

This interesting topic was chosen due to the political conjuncture, considering that The US is the second largest funder in the international development arena, with one out of every eight dollars coming from the US. The policies established by each administration have resulted in huge impact on development programs around the world during decades.

Mr. Willey and Mr. Pardo will present an in-depth analysis of the US primary elections process, and some of the current factors which are shaping the US 2016 election cycle, based on their wide experience about US Politics.

AGENDA:

• 08:30 -  Silvana Arce, Community Manager of the LAC Forum, welcomes the audience and calls the LAC Forum representative to say a few words.
• 08:40. - Rigoberto Carvallo, LAC Forum Representative, welcomes the audience to the videoconference on US presidential elections as well as the guest speakers.
• 08:45. - Silvana Arce, introduces guest speakers Jerome Wiley, Pablo Pardo and Kirsten Kurgards.
• 08:45 – Guest speakers start the videoconference based on three stages

1. Overlook -  brief historical background of US elections
2. Trends-  Key trends of 2016 US presidential elections
3. Perspectives- Guest speakers analyzes and make conclusions on US man perspectives

• 09:30- Guest speakers finish their videoconference, and starts with the questions raised by KDI students.      
• 09:45. – Silvana Arce closures the event.
