The ASIAN Pacific Forum of KDI School has successfully to organize an event of special lecture on Strategic Organizational Leadership presented by the Professor Dr. Syed Jamal Haider on November 23, 2016. He is a visiting professor at Woosong University, Daejeon as well as an associate professor at Saint Mary University, USA.

The lecture presented the Case Study of a Failed Multinational-Owned Company Becoming a Successful Locally-Owned Enterprise. A two-year research study of market conditions and organizational factors including, leadership style, culture, mission and strategy to analyze the economic performance and profitability of a subsidiary of a multinational firm operating in Pakistan under two circumstances: first, as a subsidiary of a multinational corporation and later, as a locally-owned Pakistani business. The research results indicated that factors of business performance include visionary and entrepreneurial leadership, a flat organizational structure, emphasis on customer service, product quality, state-of-the art plant technology, teamwork, employee motivation and empowerment, open communication, and a mindset for continuous improvement. However, leadership is the driving factor behind a high performance culture to achieve organizational goals. The study also provided keen insights in how training and development practices can be improved to enhance human resource performance and development.
