as KDIS Muslim Community Club (KDIS MCC) members, our primary purpose is establishing an everlasting culture that nurtures diversity and coexistence. For this reason, KDIS Muslim Community Club organized three activities in Spring Semester to help our community members (both newcomers and continuing students) broaden their knowledge about Islam as a peaceful religion, and in particular Muslim Culture in Korea.

in Our Welcome Gathering on 15 February 2019, we conveyed to our new fellow Muslim students about how it looks to live in Korea as international Muslim students and introduced more about KDIS MCC programs. Also, our club members were invited to join the ICD introduction event organized jointly by Islamic Center Daejeon (ICD) and Muslim Students Association in Korea (M-SAK) held in Daejeon on 22 February 2019. During the event, the president of ICD made his remarks on the establishment of ICD and its institutional structure as well as ICD's social engagement activities. On 23 February, KDIS MCC organized pre-Ramadan event and invited the Imam of Islamic center Daejeon (ICD), Sheikh Ehsan Ullah, to deliver a special lecture on the topic "Interfaith Ramadan and Fasting Etiquette in Islam." During the event, Sheikh Ehsan talked about the purpose of the holy month of Ramadan and many Muslim and non-Muslim students were given a chance to ask questions relevant to Islam in general and Ramadan in particular in Q&A session.

In the future, KDIS MCC intends to share Islamic teachings, culture, history-- both unknown national features and worldwide-- with our non-Muslim community members at school to facilitate an environment where everyone can feel comfort and inclusiveness. While discomfort and misunderstanding between community members emerges due to lack of knowledge of others' norms and values, we view  sharing Islamic culture and values in friendly dialogues, gatherings, and information exchange activities as the best to overcome from cultural conflicts. Therefore, Our club is always passionate to organize regular activities with the aim of sharing those fundamental divergences to achieve mutual understanding among all parties in our school. Our ultimate goal is to assure that KDI sustains to become an academic environment suitable for all cultures.
