Request for Arranging a Thesis Supervisor
(students admitted before 2010)
Students who wish to write a thesis should first discuss potential topics with an appropriate advisor, then submit a "Request for Arranging a Thesis Supervisor" by Saturday, October 2, 2010, and a "Proposal for Thesis" by October 20 (Wed), 2010 to the academic affairs division.
It is not applied to 2010 students.
1. Due Date: "Request for Arranging a Thesis Supervisor"- June 12 (Sat), 2010

Submit a "Proposal for Thesis" under the supervision of your Thesis Supervisor
1st Thesis Evaluation
~April 30, 2011
- April 30(Sat), 2011: Thesis Submission for Anti-Plagiarism Test
Before the deadline for thesis evaluation, a student has time to revise his/her
paper on the result of the test.
- May 20(Fri), 2010: Deadline for Submission of Master’s Degree Thesis
Upon completion, he/she must submit three copies of the
thesis along with a "Recommendation from the Thesis Supervisor for Thesis
Evaluation" and a "Request for Thesis Evaluation"
* If a student’s thesis is approved by the thesis review committee, he/she will be eligible to graduate on Aug. 31, 2011.
2nd Thesis Evaluation
~August 31, 2011
- August 31 (Wed), 2011: Thesis Submission for Anti-Plagiarism Test
Before the deadline for thesis evaluation, a student has time to revise his/her
paper on the result of the test.
- September 9(Fri), 2011: Deadline for Submission of Master’s Degree Thesis
Upon completion, he/she must submit three copies of the
thesis along with a "Recommendation from the Thesis Supervisor for Thesis
Evaluation" and a "Request for Thesis Evaluation"
* If a student’s thesis is approved by the thesis review committee, he/she will be eligible to graduate on December 9, 2011.
2. To be eligible to submit a thesis, you must have:
- Completed 3 semesters and 39 credits
- Have a grade point average equal to or higher than a B-(2.67)
3. Steps for Writing and Submitting a Thesis
1) Submit a "Request for Arranging a Thesis Supervisor" in a student’s third semester
2) If he/she wants to change a thesis supervisor for any reason, he/she must submit a "Request for Changing a Thesis Supervisor," and also get approval from current and future thesis supervisors.
3) Submit a "Proposal for Thesis" under the supervision of his/her thesis supervisor
4) He/she gets advised for a certain period of time (1 semester recommended) on his/her thesis by his/her thesis supervisor (commonly in their third and fourth semester).
5) The format of the thesis must conform to the "Guide to Writing a Thesis"
6) Upon completion of his/her thesis, he/she must submit three copies of the thesis along with a"Recommendation from the Thesis Supervisor for Thesis Evaluation" and a "Request for Thesis Evaluation."
7) The program chair recommends Thesis Evaluation Committee members with the approval of the Dean and therefore constitutes Thesis Evaluation Committee with three members before the evaluation period begins.
8) The thesis supervisor becomes the chairperson of the Thesis Evaluation Committee and proceeds with the evaluation.
9) The decision of the Thesis Evaluation Committee is reached with the agreement of more than two thirds of the Committee members.
