[2014 Spring Int'l Students] Basic Knowledge on Math & Economics and Basic Mathematics Test

Dear. 2014 Spring International Students

 

 

 

Greetings from KDI School.

 

In order to study at the KDI School, you need to have knowledge of basic mathematics and statistics and economics required for core courses such as “Analysis of Market and Public Policy”, “Quantitative Methods” and “Introduction to Research Methods.”

 

 

Materials for Basic Math & Basic Economics

 

Thus, we will give you some reading materials and useful websites to help you to study both math and economics before you come.

You can find related reading materials at the school library homepage.

 

How to access to the library website (please refer to the attached instruction for details)

 

1. Log in to the school homepage(http://kdischool.ac.kr)

2. Click ‘Library’

3. Click ‘Course Reserves’

4. Select ‘2013 Fall’ Term (Select ‘2014 Winter’ term for basic economics)

5. Click the name of faculty

(‘Arshad, Muhammad’ for Basic Math, ‘Kim, Sunjin’ for Basic Economics)

6. Click “Full Text”. Then, you can access to the reading materials.

 

 

Basic Mathematics Test

 

All students are required to take mathematics test in the orientation on Feb 5th,

The test consists of multiple choices and it will last for forty minutes. Those who do not pass the test are strongly recommended to take the “Basic Mathematics and Statistics” class in the Spring semester.

1. Khan''s Academy (https://www.khanacademy.org/math/calculus)

: It is a video based site where you can listen lectures on its area of interest.

 

2. Maths Tutor (http://www.mathtutor.ac.uk/arithmetic)

: It is another video based site where you can listen lectures on arithmetic, algebra, functions and graphs, differentiation etc.

 

3. Cliff Notes (http://www.cliffsnotes.com/math/basic-math/basic-math-and-pre-algebra)

: It is another site where you can clear your concept related to math and statistics.

 

4. Math is Fun (http://www.mathsisfun.com/)

: it is also very useful site.
