Fall 2017 Student Forum (two slots are open)

Dear KDIS Students,

Student Forum application for 2017 Fall Semester is now open! There is two more slots to create new forums for this semester.

To foster a liberal research environment and to maximize the human resources of KDI School, we have made promotion of the student forums.

“KDI School Student forum” is a student-driven gathering for academic research. It is a sort of a student club with academic features.

Registered forums will receive financial support from the School. Please read the instructions below for details.  

 

  

  1. What is Student Forum?
  • Students team up to form a research group by the REGION or POLICY area of interest
  • Each research group will discuss and choose a thematic issue
  • Perform various research activities – interview, seminar, conference, case study, literature review, data analysis, and so on.

 

 

  1. How many forums can be approved?  

2 forum will be chosen after we review your application package. Below are the lists of the forums that will be likely to be opened in 2017 summer/spring semester. HOWEVER, these forums need to be “re-registered” with the forum registration form to continue your forum. But, the Student Affairs Division will give you the priority and save the spot until the deadline of by Sep.15.

For those who have already opened the forum in last spring/summer semester(2017) will have to “re-register” in order to be officially approved from the school.

 

??2. What are the requirements to establish a forum? 

- A forum should have more than 10 members including 1 faculty advisor.

- It is recommended to have members of various backgrounds.

- A forum should submit an application form to the student affairs division.

- It is recommended that a forum should arrange at least 3 activities per semester. 

 

3. How does financial support work? 

- Financial support eligibility will be determined after reviewing each forum’s activity plans.

- After the review, KDI School will support a maximum of KRW 200,000 at the end of every semester.

  • General seminar, conference and meetings

200,000KRW /Semester, upon Report and Receipt of submission

  • Special Event

Guest lecture, Conference, Discussion, Presentation, upon consultation with the student affairs division

 

- The forum representative should submit forum activity report including financial details and“Original receipts”, to be allotted supporting budget from the school. (Electronic receipts are available only.)

- A forum should share all activity plans and results (pictures, reports etc.) not only with forum members but with all school members by posting it on the “Forum Board” of the KDI School website to be eligible for financial support.

- A forum should open its activities to all school members to encourage participation of non-forum members. 

 

 4. When is the application period? 

?- The application should be submitted to Ms. June Hyunju Kim(S247) by Sep.15.

  

5. Forum approval 

?- After review of applications, the forum lists and representatives for 2017 Fall will be announced via e-mail and put up on the school website. You can directly contact each representative through e-mail.
