The 10th Euro-Asia Summer School in Tokyo (Hitotsubashi U) and Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium) will be held from August 20th to 31st. KDI School is looking for five (5) qualified students who will take part in this exciting event.

 

The Euro-Asia Summer School is an annually held summer program by KU Leuven in Belgium, Hitotsubashi U in Japan, Seoul National University, and KDI School. The program includes lectures from world-famous scholars as well as exciting field trips in Belgium and Japan. It is a key opportunity for young talents to meet and interact with one another and to take part in inter-cultural dialogues on global governance.

 

1. PROGRAM DATE

20 August - 26 August 2018: Hitotsubashi U, Tokyo, Japan

27 August - 31 August 2018: KU Leuven, Belgium

 

2. QUALIFICATIONS

- Completion of two terms at KDI School by the starting day of the program

- Students who complete their degrees or graduate within 2018 Summer semester cannot apply

*A total of 5 students will be selected to attend the program and KDI School will provide financial support of KRW 1,500,000 per person

 

3. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1) Application Form (see attached)

2) Statement of Purpose: within 2 pages (A4) typed in English

3) Resume

4) A copy of transcript

5) English proficiency certificate*

*Native English Speakers and students who completed their degree program in English are exempted from submitting an English proficiency certificate. In this case, you may alternatively submit certificates of medium of instruction.

 

4. APPLICATION DEADLINE: 13th May, 2018 (Sunday)

The application package should be submitted directly to the External Relations & Development Division in hard copy during the office hours. If the office is closed, just put the documents under the door and send an e-mail to Ms. Hye June Kwon at erd@kdischool.ac.kr

* KDI School will contact candidates individually with interview details after document review if necessary

 

5. COST

The participation fee for the program is EUR 250 & JPY  33,000 (approximately EUR 500 in total). It includes registration, tuition, accommodation, half-board and domestic travel. In addition to the participation fee, airfare, insurance costs, a part of meals and other expenses must be paid by participants.

 

6. NOTES:

- Any accident, diseases, and other issues that might arise during his/her stay in Europe during this summer program would be due to the participant’s own responsibility, of which expenses must be paid by him/herself. He or she must purchase the Overseas Travel Accident Insurance on his or her own expenses.

- Students who successfully complete the requirements of this program will receive 2 credits, although they are not counted towards the 45-credit requirement for graduation.
