Critical Reading of Academic Texts

Excited but feel overwhelmed by the amount of reading assignments?

When you are new to graduate studies, the amount of reading you are expected to do can be daunting. There are some approaches that may make it more manageable.

From this workshop, you will learn how to read and think critically about academic texts through skimming, scanning, and asking questions. Moreover, you will develop the skills to critically appraise academic texts by identifying arguments, evaluating evidence, and pinpointing the author's position.

* NOTE: This is NOT a speed-reading workshop, rather the first step to unpack academic writing.
