Dear Students, 

 

We would like to invite all members of the KDI School to the 2019Korea Field Research and Study (KFRS), which will take place from May 8th(Wed.) to May 10th (Fri.).

This three-day field trip will be a great opportunity to witness the past and present of Korean development. By visiting industrial manufacturing sites, you will see the foundations of Korea's modern economy. We will also look around at some historical sites rich in Korean cultural heritage.

  <General Information for the 2019 KFRS> 

 

1. Event Dates: May 8 (Wed.)~May 10 (Fri.) — Three days and two nights

2. Application Period: Apr. 8 (Mon.), 12:00 AM~ Apr. 14 (Sun.)

3. Participation Fee: KRW 60,000 (The original cost is around 500,000 KRW; however, KDIS will cover your accommodation, meals, and transportation fee.)  

4. Accommodation: Gyeongju Hyundai Hotel

5. Volume of Recruitment: 80 (First come-first served basis)

 

  <How to Apply> 

 

1. Go to the MIS webpage

2. In the menu bar on the left, click “Apply for Events” under“Training/Event”

3. Click the “Query” button

4. Click “2019 Korea Field Research and Study"

5. Check your Food Menu. If you are vegetarian, please choose the Vegetarian menu.

6. If you have to be on fasting during that period, please leave some comments about it.  

 

※ Please check your status to see if you're enrolled, canceled, or waiting in the "Event ApplicationResult" section. (If someone cancels their reservation, the first person on the waiting list will take their place.)

  

  <Participation FeePayment>  

 

1. Monthly stipend recipient: the participation fee will be deducted from your June stipend.

2. Not recipient: transfer the participation fee of KRW 60,000 to the bank account below by April 14th.

3. Penalty: 30,000 KRW for no-show penalty  (If you cancel your application through the MIS page before April 14th, there will be no penalty.)

Although KFRS is designed for international students, in order to improve their understanding of diverse aspects of Korea, Korean students are strongly encouraged to join in as well, and are welcome to attend.

This field trip offers one credit as a field research course, upon submission of a KFRS report. This credit will be shown on your official transcript under the summer term, but will not count towards your graduation requirements.

The original KFRS, which was scheduled to take place in August, has been changed to May. Thus, there is noKRFS in summer. More detailed information and scheduling will be provided soon.
