Application for the 11^th Euro-Asia Summer School

 

The 11th Euro-Asia Summer School will be held from August 19th to 31st, 2019. KDI School is looking for qualified students who will take part in this exciting event.The aim of the Euro-Asia Summer School ‘EU - East Asia Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation in Global Governance’, organized by the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies in association with Hitotsubashi University (Japan), Seoul National University (South Korea), the KDI School of Public Policy and Management (South Korea) and the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (Spain), is to bring together talented students from Asia and Europe to study key aspects of global governance from comparative perspectives. This is a key opportunity for young talents to meet and interact and therefore to facilitate inter-cultural dialogues on global governance.

 

▣ Program Date

▶18 August - 20 August, 23 August, 2019 Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea

▶21 August - 23 August 2019:KDI School of Public Policy and Management, Sejong, Korea

▶ 25 August - 31 August 2019: KU Leuven, Belgium

▣ Qualification

 

-Completion of one terms at KDI School by the starting day of the program

-Students who complete their degrees or graduate within 2019 summer semester cannot apply for this opportunity

*A total of 6 students will be selected as the financial support recipients of KRW 1,000,000 per person.

2) Statement of Purpose: within 2 pages (A4) in English

3) Resume

4) Copy of transcript

5) English proficiency certificate (mandatory)

*Native English Speakers and students who took their degree program in English are exempted. In this case, you may alternatively submit certificates of medium of instruction.

▣ Application Deadline: 12^th May, 2019 (Sunday)

 

*The application package should be submitted directly to the Planning Division(Room S218) in hard copy during the office hours.

**If the office is closed, just put the documents under the door and send an e-mail to planning@kdis.ac.kr.

 

 

▣ Interview: To be announced later. Approximately scheduled to 15-17^th May, 2019

 

 

▣ Final announcement: 21^st, May, 2019(expected)

 

 

▣ Cost

*Participation fee for the program is €500. It includes registration, tuition, accommodation, half-board and domestic travel.
** KDI School will provide financial assistance of KRW 1,000,000 per person. Please be noted that the amount of assistance is subject to change depending on the budget.
***Other Costs: In addition to the participation costs, airfare, insurance costs, a part of meals and other expenses must be paid by participants.

▣ Notes

*Any accident, diseases, and other issues that might arise during his/her stay in Europe during this summer program would be due to the participant’s own responsibility, of which expenses must be paid by him/herself. He or she must buy the Overseas Travel Accident Insurance on his or her own expenses.
