Dear International Students,

Some of you may have received a letter from the National Health Insurance of Korea under the title of “Information on Expected Mandatory Subscription to the National Health Insurance of Korea”, stating that you will be mandatorily subscribed to the National Health Insurance beginning on July 16, 2019, regardless of the fact that you are currently subscribed to private insurance.

KDI School has been officially informed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice that the mandatory subscription will be suspended until February 28, 2021 only for D-2 and D-4 visa holders. Students with six months or longer on their visa as of March, 2021, however, will be subject to mandatory subscription. Relevant information and guidance will be provided to applicable students later on.
