Reinforced COVID-19 Protocols (December 6 ~ January 2, 2022)

Dear members of KDI School,

 

The number of daily confirmed cases has increased and stayed around 5,000 recently since "Living with COVID-19" took effect in November.

 

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) has confirmed 36 omicron cases after the first case in November 25. The newly confirmed cases included some foreign students studying at universities in Seoul. 

 

The government reimposed stricter COVID-19 Protocols yesterday to limit private gatherings and encourage more vaccinations in order to contain a surge in infections and the spread of the omicron variant. The measures will remain in effect until Jan. 2.

 


1. Date and Period: From Monday, December 6, 2021 until Sunday, January 2, 2022. (For 4 weeks)

 

2. Private Gatherings Restriction

- Seoul Metropolitan Area

   (Before) Up to ten(10) people regardless of vaccination status  

   (After) Up to six(6) people including up to one(1) unvaccinated person

 

- Non-Metropolitan Area including "Sejong and Daejeon":

   (Before) Up to twelve(12) people regardless of vaccination status  

   (After) Up to eight(8) people including up to one(1) unvaccinated person

※ Important Notice: Please note that up to one(1) unvaccinated person can visit restaurants and cafes.

 

3. Vaccine Pass

The government also said that the use of vaccination passes will be expanded to include more indoor establishments such as restaurants, cafes, movie theaters, sports facilities, museums, and multi-purpose rooms. You must present a vaccination certificate or application such as Coov, Naver, Kakao to enter.
