Notice on Stricter Distancing Rules and Results of the Confirmed Case at KDI

Dear Members of KDI School,

 

KDI School would like to share important notices with you regarding stricter distancing rules by Korean government and the results of the epidemiological investigation on the confirmed COVID-19 case at KDI.

 

?? Korean government's stricter distancing rules

The number of daily confirmed cases has increased to around 7,000 for the first time last week, only days after surpassing the 5,000 mark. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) reported 7,622 cases for Wednesday, just one day after posting a new daily count record of 7,850.

The Korean government has reimposed curfews on businesses and tightened social distancing rules, as the number of COVID-19 infections and severe cases have reached record highs. This is occurring a month and a half after easing the rules under the 'living with COVID-19' policy.

 

(1) Date and Period: From Saturday, December 18, 2021 until Sunday, January 2, 2022 (for 16 days) 

(2) Private Gatherings Restriction: Up to four (4) people, as long as they all are fully vaccinated. (nationwide) 

(3) Important Notice 

- Unvaccinated people must dine out alone or use takeout and delivery services. - Restaurants, cafes, and bars will close by 9 p.m. and movie theaters and internet cafes by 10 p.m. 

- You must present a vaccination certificate or mobile application such as Coov, Naver, or Kakao to enter these establishments. 

- As vaccination certificate issued by foreign countries will not be accepted, we will inform you of how to register the vaccination record to public health center at your earliest convenience. 

 

?? Results of the epidemiological investigation on the confirmed COVID-19 case at KDI

Regarding the recent confirmed patient at KDI, we would like to share the result as follows.

 

- (Dec. 14) All KDI staff, KDI School staff, and students who used the cafeteria completed the PCR test after first patient from KDI was confirmed. 

- (Dec. 16) There were two additional confirmed cases at the KDI. 

- So far all of the inspectors, including members of KDI School, have received negative results for the PCR test. If there is any update, we will inform you. 

- The cafeteria in the central building will remain closed until further notice.
