As of July 4, 2020

 

○ As of 0:00, July 4 2020, the total number of confirmed cases is 13,030 (including 1,647 imported cases), of which 11,811 cases have been discharged from isolation. There are 36 new local cases and 27 new imported cases.

□ The current state* of major local clusters as of today (as of 12:00, July 4) are as follows:

* The specific figures below may differ from the daily reported statistics (which are based on figures as of 0:00 today) or figures disclosed by local municipalities due to factors such as report timing and differences in the time period considered

○ Related to the fitness center visited by a resident in apartment complex in Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi Province, 4 cases were additionally confirmed(family and friends of confirmed case), bringing the total case to 25.

* 1 index case and 1 family member; 7 residents of the same building; 16 related to fitness center

○ Related to Lord Glory Church in Manan-gu, Anyang city, Gyeonggi province, 1 additional case was confirmed. Newly confirmed case is a coworker of a church member working at Yangji SLC logistics center. In total, 24 cases have been confirmed.

○ No additional cases were confirmed as a result of testing 1,560 students and staff from 4 schools which confirmed cases are attending related to an acting academy in Jung-gu, Daegu city.

○ Related to a confirmed case from July 2 in Daejeon, 6 additional cases were confirmed from The Joen clinic at Seo-gu, Daejeon city. Investigation on chain of transmission and contact testing are underway.

○ Related to Gwangneuksa Temple in Gwangju City, there are 61 confirmed cases in total. Additional confirmed cases are 4 residents and staff from CCC Agape Silver Center.

○ Related to Ilgok Chung-ang church, Gwangju city, 6 cases were additionally confirmed. Testing of all participants at the service on June 28 and investigation of any connection between Gwangneuksa Temple is ongoing.

 

 

○ Imported cases in Korea (as of 0:00, July 4, 2020)

 

 

○ When visiting a restaurant,

- Visits should avoid rush hours, hand washing and use of hand sanitizer should be practiced before meals,

- Masks should be worn before entering into the restaurant, as well as before and after the meal. When sharing dishes, tongs should be used and conversations should be avoided as much as possible during meals since that may spread droplets.

- When making or answering on a mobile phone inside a restaurant or other crowded indoor space, the call should be taken outside or with mask worn.

 

 

□ In light of the recent spreading of COVID-19 through religious small group meetings and other events, KCDC urged public to take precaution over the weekend.

○ Religious events and small group meetings should be refrained, or switch to non-face-to-face methods,

○ And in case of an unavoidable on-site event, minimize the number of participants, put 2 meter distance between participants, wear masks all times, refrain from singing (which can cause respiratory droplets to move in air) and have instrumental music instead, and do not provide group meals or hold small group gatherings.

○ “5 Basic Infection Prevention Rules for Everyone”

(1) Stay home for 3-4 days if you get sick.

(2) Keep a distance of two arms’ length between you and other people.

(3) Wash your hands for 30 seconds. Cough/sneeze into your sleeve.

(4) Ventilate your space at least twice a day and disinfect regularly.

(5) Keep in touch with family and friends while maintaining physical distancing.

 

 

○ COVID-19 PREVENTION MEASURES IN SCHOOLS

- Do not go to school or work if having fever or respiratory symptoms

- Ventilate classrooms by opening windows

- Maintain constant distance between students

- Keep facemasks on at all times* while in school

  * Exceptions allowed for meal times or health problems

- Maintain personal hygiene including hand washing and using hand sanitizers

- If having fever of 37.5 degrees or above or respiratory symptoms, immediately inform a health teacher and classroom teacher, put on an MFDS-approved facemask, and wait in a separate area

- Avoid karaoke rooms, PC cafes, bars, clubs, and other publicly used facilities.
