○ As of 0:00, July 6 2020, the total number of confirmed cases is 13,137 (including 1,690 imported cases), of which 11,848 cases have been discharged from isolation. There are 24 new local cases, 24 new imported cases, and 1 new death.

□ The current state* of major local clusters as of today (as of 12:00, 6 July) are as follows:

* The specific figures below may differ from the daily reported statistics (which are based on figures as of 0:00 today) or figures disclosed by local municipalities due to factors such as report timing and differences in the time period considered

○ Related to Wangsung Church in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, 1 additional case was confirmed while in self-quarantine. In total, 36* cases have been confirmed.

* Seoul = 28; Gyeonggi = 8

○ Related to a family in Jungnang-gu, Seoul City, after the index case was confirmed on 2 July, the case’s coworkers (2) and family contacts (6) have been additionally confirmed. In total, 9 cases have been confirmed.

* 2 July: index case / 3 July: 1 coworker / 4 July: 5 family members and 1 coworker / 6 July: 1 family member

○ Related to church member gathering in Suwon-si, Gyeonggi Province, 7 additional cases have been confirmed. The new cases are church acquaintance’s contacts and contact’s family. In total, 20 cases have been confirmed.

* 14 in Gyeonggi Province, 6 in Incheon City

○ Related to The Joeun Clinic in Seo-gu, Daejeon City, 1 additional case was confirmed. The new case was an inpatient under self-quarantine. In total, 10 cases have been confirmed.

○ Related to Gwangneuksa Temple in Gwangju City, 7 additional cases were confirmed. In total, 87* cases have been confirmed. The new cases are related to Geumyang Building (3), Hanwul Nursing Home (2), and Gwangju Ilgok Central Church (2).

○ Domestic COVID-19 cases virus classification

 

 

□ KCDC analyzed the infection control situation and risk factors for the last 2 weeks compared to the previous 2 weeks.

 

 

○ Recent major clusters

 

 

□ KCDC urged precaution in light of the continued local transmissions especially around religious facilities and door-to-door facilities.

○ Religious communities are requested to cancel large events or small group gatherings or switch them to a non-face-to-face method.

- Facilities hosting an on-site religious event should minimize the number of people attending in person, ensure 2 meter distancing and mask wearing, use instrumental music instead of choir or congregational singing, and avoid having group meals or small group gatherings.

○ Middle-aged and elderly people are requested to avoid direct sales seminars or promotional events.

- People who have suspected symptoms should cancel any outing or social gathering plans and visit a screening clinic to get tested.

○ “5 Basic Infection Prevention Rules for Everyone”

(1) Stay home for 3-4 days if you get sick.

(2) Keep a distance of two arms’ length between you and other people.

(3) Wash your hands for 30 seconds. Cough/sneeze into your sleeve.

(4) Ventilate your space at least twice a day and disinfect regularly.

(5) Keep in touch with family and friends while maintaining physical distancing.

 

 

○ COVID-19 PREVENTION MEASURES IN SCHOOLS

- Do not go to school or work if having fever or respiratory symptoms

- Ventilate classrooms by opening windows

- Maintain constant distance between students

- Keep facemasks on at all times* while in school

  * Exceptions allowed for meal times or health problems

- Maintain personal hygiene including hand washing and using hand sanitizers

- If having fever of 37.5 degrees or above or respiratory symptoms, immediately inform a health teacher and classroom teacher, put on an MFDS-approved facemask, and wait in a separate area

- Avoid karaoke rooms, PC cafes, bars, clubs, and other publicly used facilities.
