Education for All: Leveraging Innovation to Achieve SDG 4 in Developing Nations - Brief intro of project Title Education for All: Leveraging Innovation to Achieve SDG 4 in Developing Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4. Quality Education Timely Global Issues 2. Comparative Policy Analysis Education Summary of your project Education for Sustainable development is and will continue to be vital for pursing sustainability. The United Nations Programme for Education for Sustainable Development has encouraged innovative approaches in education in order to contribute to the societal transition towards Sustainability through both the formal Education System, non -formal and informal learning settings. Education for Sustainable Development is less seen as a separate form of Education and more easily mainstreamed in educational strategies .As the year 2016 began, the era of Millennium Development Goals ended and the era of sustainable development started. Though there has been a great progress as a result of Millennium Development goals, but new types of problems arise as population continues to grow and as there is availability of less resources .Similarly in education we have shortage of funds and lack of quality education. The world has entered to the era of 4th Industrial Revolution where sophisticated technologies. Inspite of potential harm to the lives of human beings are offering opportunities of innovation and development which led the societies to face challenges that put new demands on education and how it is organized. Such innovations and development will lead to the sustainable development than never before .Achievement of ambitious 2030 Agenda for sustainable Development requires new innovation approaches that are socially inclusive and environmentally benign .Among many innovations what came to forefront was a concept of blended learning, flipped learning, MOOC’s , Adaptive learning , Artificial Intelligence, Gamification etc. Throughout the world the world these technologies and innovations are considered as what contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. But most of these facilities are not available to all as many parts of the world are not even connected to the internet .Societies that base their policies on sustainability will have an advantage in tackling future economic, social and environmental challenges. United Nations took an ambitious task in 2002 and declared a Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD , 2005 – 2014 and UNESCO was given the responsibility for monitoring and evaluating progress during the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. The Decade of Education for Sustainable Development promotes a more sustainable world through different forms of education, training and public awareness activities. -
