Brief intro of project
Innovative Industries for Tropical Countries - Brief intro of project Title Innovative Industries for Tropical Countries Sustainable Development Goals 9. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure Timely Global Issues 4. Find out Global Market Economy Summary of your project Đặng Phong theory explains humans form certain habits in economic activities, community building, human relationship because of natural conditions. Tropical land and water-rice of the nature of Viet Nam made people form Lang - a type of village treating each other toward equality and neighhood to help one another in water-rice cultivation and close small market within village for community gathering more than trade as garden of Vietnam nature provided for all needs including housing from woods and mud or bricks, furniture from bamboos, kitchen utensils from bamboo. Oshima also supports the idea that water-rice cultivation forms community-oriented attitude in monsoon countries. After centuries, language in many countries such as Vietnam (Anh/Chị/Em/Cô/Chú), China (妹妹, 阿姨) Thailand (ลุง), Korean (오빠), creates family-like atmosphere in village and then nation, words and idioms and values prioritize human connections more than materials. Westernization since 1900s have replaced herbs by industrial soaps, cool mud and wood houses by cement apartments, Yin-Yang und 5-Element architecture by air-conditioning, hemp, flax, cotton, silks including banana and lotus silk by polyester textile products. Those things increase material quantity for people's life but not always quality. People can be confused among values of newly introduced lifestyle and their previous philosophies of treasuring nature like living slow and close to the warm nature, causing heuristic mentality in society as Artena, Niana and Ingmar explained in SMUS Thailand in 2024. Air-conditioning heats up cities, more technology waste and health issues due to heat shocks cause worries. Harmful hygiene products burden waste water treatment. Plastic waste is a huge problem. A wave of looking back at past knowledge about how to live in this nature has been debated in recent years with many herbal products, Eastern and Southern medicines suiting humans and the nature conditions of Viet Nam, eco architecture of mud house and bamboo house without air-conditioning and trends of leaving the cities to live in forests, sea beaches or gardens.
Some knowledge of local people in other countries in the South such as clay and water structure to cool down air in India has been also well discussed in Viet Nam. This suits the idea about an innovation network for tropical countries introduced to Artena by Dante in University of Sao Paulo. The theory of South-South cooperation is nothing new. However, it is still relied on Global North theory and needs of import and export of material goods as cold weather makes them live in a lack of many essential materials for life. Do tropical countries really need to advertise in a way to make people greedy and want to taste more food, own more furniture to satisfy novelty mentality? What is another way to make those tropical countries live well together without just increasing material lust? How about slow travel - an idea in the project of Team 37 of KDISPR 2024. People stay longer, travel slower to learn about history, culture? What if they share a philosophy of reuse and repair and turn it into an art form. How much knowledge should those people critically learn from ideas of industries in so-called the West and Global North? We will also have fashion but of only compostable materials and colorings? We will also have hygiene products in herb bar and packed by small pieces of paper? We have local housing construction MSMEs using bamboo, clay and grass but with better technique to make them stronger? We have herbal defense industries or philosophy-based defense study training human mentality into peace by helping those who live in less favorable conditions of nature?
Using Tri (Understanding thoroughly) - Hanh (action) theory, this project looks for practical ideas and actions to form a total different system of industries producing products more suitable to life of people in those hot or hot and humid countries. -

Details of Cooperation Project
Innovative Industries for Tropical Countries - Details of Cooperation Project Objective of the Project This project looks for ideas to form a total different system of industries producing products more suitable to life of people in those hot or hot and humid countries. Expected Benefits from the Project Ideas for enterprises and startups
Cooperation for governments, esp. those of tropical countries
Knowledge sharing for researchers
A philosophy of tropical life, where essential needs including food and water, herbal medicines, probiotics and materials for housing tends to be very available and the warm temperature requires little efforts in building thick stable houses to protect humans from coldness - a philosophy of building human-nature relationship more friendly to the environment and may even be able to take of other lands where cold or dry or too hot weathers make human-nature relationship more difficult.Anything you would like to inform the potential partner 1- We can support one another forever, not just within this project: For example:
- You yourself can set up your business in bio tourism, agriculture tourism, culture and history tourism and we find market for you across our countries;
- You can want to write a book about your country products and we will support you by giving you comments and reviews
- You may want to move to the countries of the member to learn or to live, we can help you find a job, build a life, learn languages, make friends.
2- Feel free to tell me from the beginning what time during the year you will be busy so I arrange the project suitable to all
