Summary of your project This study project aims to enhance health service delivery in South Asia, home to nearly 2 billion people, by addressing the region's fragmented healthcare facilities, particularly in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The initiative focuses on implementing a synchronized referral network to tackle critical healthcare challenges, especially the absence of a structured referral system. This lack exacerbates inefficiencies, inequities, and poor health outcomes across the region. A well-functioning referral network is essential for ensuring that patients receive appropriate care at the right level of the healthcare system, facilitating seamless transitions from primary to tertiary care. By recognizing and addressing the fragmented nature of healthcare services in South Asia, this initiative seeks to create a coordinated system for patient referrals across various healthcare levels. Ultimately, this approach envisions improving patient outcomes, enhancing service efficiency, and promoting health equity throughout the region.
