Summary of your project This research will contribute to climate policy discussions by emphasizing the cultural dimensions of climate action. By integrating artistic and cultural elements, policymakers and practitioners can design more effective, community-driven climate initiatives.

Climate change poses an existential threat to the planet, requiring not just policy measures but also community engagement to ensure effective implementation. Art and culture have historically played a crucial role in shaping societal narratives, preserving indigenous wisdom, and influencing behavior. This research aims to explore how art and cultural expressions—particularly folk traditions—can enhance climate action, awareness and implementation.

    Methodology:
    • Literature Review: A review of existing studies on the role of art and culture in climate awareness.
    • Qualitative Analysis: Collection and analysis of folklore, poetry, and literature related to environmental themes. This will focus on any language across the globe including Saraiki Language.
    • Case Studies: Examination of successful art-based climate awareness models from various cultures.
    • Interviews & Focus Groups: Discussions with artists, poets, environmentalists, and community leaders to assess the impact of cultural narratives on climate action.

    Timeline:
Mar-: Literature review and data collection
April: Qualitative analysis and case study selection
May: Interviews and focus group discussions
June: Data synthesis and report writing
July: Finalization and cross checking the findings
    Aug: Final Report Writing

Potential for Long term Cooperation: This research will help to develop long term cooperation with Communities, Universities, INGOs, NGOs and government institutions involved in climate action projects.

Public Impact: The findings of this research have great public impact by developing policy implementation guidelines, with reference to climate action and community engagement. It will highlight the actionable insights for tackling climate issues.
