Brief intro of project
Engaging Men as Allies in grassroots feminism in Nigeria and South korea - Brief intro of project Title Engaging Men as Allies in grassroots feminism in Nigeria and South korea Sustainable Development Goals 5. Gender Equality Timely Global Issues 5. Exchange of Knowledge and Culture Gender and Equality Summary of your project For too long, feminism has been seen as a movement solely for women. But if we are to dismantle patriarchy, men must be part of the conversation not as leaders, but as allies willing to challenge systems of oppression.
From Lagos to Seoul, men are slowly stepping into feminist spaces, speaking up against gender-based violence, advocating for equal rights, and challenging toxic masculinity. However, their participation is often limited by societal norms, lack of awareness, and fear of backlash. This project seeks to change that by creating safe spaces for men to learn, unlearn, and actively participate in grassroots feminist movements. -
